It’s been a couple of months since we released our ISO-NEXT release and we are completely aware of the bugs in it that have risen to the surface, which have become major obstacles through time.

As we explained earlier, the ISO had received a complete overhaul between April and August and after releasing the community gave us very valuable feedback by submitting bug reports.

Joe and Manuel, together with a lot of help from our community members and the Calamares dev community, began starting to improve the ISO and with every improvement, another issue arose.

Among those improvements are Nvidia handling, Grub and lots of other improvements we will reveal in the release announcement.

To those who want to give us a try and the current ISO isn’t working on your hardware, the next release is nearly ready to be launched.

Even though we do work very hard to get the ISO working for most systems, you must understand that EndeavourOS is a labour of love and unfortunately, we don’t have the opportunity to test our ISOs on every single working hardware in the world. So don’t get too upset with us when our ISO, old or new, doesn’t work with your system, we honestly do what we can do.

EDIT on 29 November: The release date will be Friday 3 December 2021.

Love,

The EndeavourOS team.

I absolutely love EndeavourOS, thanks so much for all your demanding work! Of course, it’s a little sad that, for example, in the KDE system, Discover does not work “out of the box” or “Pamac”. I love the console, but sometimes I really want to make my life easier with tools like Yast in Opensuse).

EndeavourOS is a great distro, simple an elegant, and don’t rely too much on pre-made scripts or illogic things like manjaro does, the welcome screen after system install is a really helpful place to start modeling the os and help some initial setup, then.. it’s arch, the power is to you!
Thanks for this awesome distro, wish the best! Greets from Italy <3

I have tried EOS on a 64bit PC, used the live USB several times and now I have installed EOS on a Raspberry Pi400 : And I still have the same satisfaction and enthusiasm with this excellent distro. Thanks, thanks, thanks !

Love Endeavor…such a great OS. I use it everyday. Thanks for all your hard work to make an excellent OS!

Endeavour OS seems the best distro for developing Android Apps. Though I had some problems with the periodic Updates in ISO-Next. After one Update, the OS wouldn’t boot and I needed to reinstall. After another, one Kernel lost its Internet Connection, but not the other. So I’m looking forward to ISO-Refresh.

bihig compliment on this distro. It has everything I was looking for. I was using Linux Mint (and later Linux Mint Debian Edition, which works great on my hp elitebook 2740p), found Solus which I used as my daily driver for about 2 years, but has been replaced with EndeavourOS on my XMG fusion 15.
what I like and use with EndeavourOS:
– BTRFS filesystem (with timeshift allowing me to boot into an older snapshot)
– Budgie DE (found it with Solus)
– enormes repo with AUR (if you do not find it in there, it does not exist).
– not based Ubuntu, I do not mind Debian, but it has its restrictions and limitations

Are you dropping the BSPWM version? I think that’s a good one.

    Bryanpwo · December 2, 2021 at 3:53 pm

    Why would we drop BSPWM?

sololvl0 · December 3, 2021 at 10:45 am

Well I hope it comes with Pamac out of the box and maybe Nvidia drivers options
